You will learn:

  • How typical classrooms are more suited to left brain dominant students.

  • What Dysgraphia (printing or writing problems) is and how it is often an issue for Dyslexics.

  • Why we believe Dyslexia doesn't need to be a "learning disability".

  • Why the UK, Europe, New Zealand, Australia & other countries believe Dyslexia is a "learning difference" and a “different way of thinking”.

  • How the world is changing due to the digital age and its affect on today's students.

  • How our education systems have to change to meet the needs of these students.

  • Dyslexia indicators in children & adults.

  • What teaching methods are appropriate & beneficial for Dyslexics in the classroom & home.

  • How Irlen or Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome (sensitivity with text on white backgrounds and fluorescent lights) is a common problem for Dyslexics and can be cause for many of their issues that they experience. We will also discuss how it can be tested for and managed.

  • How multi-sensory learning is very important to a Dyslexic’s education.

  • How modern adaptive technology can assist Dyslexic individuals with their literacy and numeracy issues in the classroom, at work and at home.
